Wes and Nat are evangelists serving in Macedonia, a small Balkan country of 2.2 million people. Their work is among the unreached Albanians, who make up one-third of Macedonia’s population (over 700,000). The Albanian people group in Macedonia is nearly entirely Muslim, and only a mere handful of them are Christians. Wes and Nat minister in the historic Old Bazaar, where many Albanians work and spend their free time. The Old Bazaar, which was built by the Ottoman Empire, remains the spiritual and cultural center for Albanian Muslims. Wes and Nat rent a property in the Old Bazaar where they distribute free Bibles, New Testaments and Gospel tracks to their visitors. At their evangelism center, they also serve free Turkish style tea. Wes and Nat recently moved their ministry to a much larger property, an old 18th century Turkish hotel, where they are currently doing significant restoration and renovation. They invite you to join their project– through prayer and financial gifts for the physical and spiritual restoration to the Old Bazaar!
Phase 1: The first phase of Wes and Nat’s project was recently completed! The front room of the historical hotel was transformed into a tea house, where evangelism and Bible distribution will take place. Wes and Nat will also show the Jesus Film in this tea house during the week while they serve Turkish tea, and pray for miraculous works. The property is unique because the marketplace of the Old Bazaar is crowded and having a private garden is extremely rare. Some even call this property the “gem of the old town”. Part of Phase 1 was to clean up the garden area, plant flowers and to create spaces for people to sit quietly with the Lord and to encounter His beauty.
Phase 2: This phase has just begun. Until there is a church established among the Albanians Wes and Nat are committed to praying for the harvest. During Phase 2 they will prepare a prayer room where international believers will rally to intercede and engage in the spiritual battle on the behalf of Muslims and for the salvation of the Albanians. An adjacent bathroom and kids room will also be renovated during Phase 2.
