Exposure Trips
Why Exposure Trips with Global Fellowship?
At Global Fellowship, our exposure trips are designed to do more than just send teams—they create opportunities for transformation. These short-term experiences connect participants with people from some of the world’s least reached regions, emphasizing relationships over projects or buildings. As you listen, learn, and serve alongside local believers, your presence becomes a channel for prayer, encouragement, and resources to flow into under-resourced communities. More than just a moment, these trips often ignite a lifelong passion for missions and invite you to align your heart with God’s global purpose.
Curious about sending a team with us?
We believe the local church plays a vital role in God’s mission to the nations. By organizing an exposure team, your church can take a meaningful step toward engaging the unreached. These trips are more than just a week or two in a different country—they’re an opportunity for your people to grow in cross-cultural awareness, deepen their understanding of God's heart for the nations, and build long-term partnerships with workers on the field. Whether it’s a small group of adults or a mix of generations, we’ll walk with you every step of the way to prepare, send, and debrief your team well.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can teams serve?
Teams can serve in locations in Europe like Croatia, Macedonia, or Serbia. There are also options to serve in Asia in countries like India, Nepal, and Thailand. If your church is ready to explore what it could look like to send a team, we’d love to start that conversation with you.
Who should apply for a trip?
These trips are for anyone with a heart to learn, serve, and grow in God’s global mission–whether you’re just beginning to explore what missions is all about or you’ve been praying for the nations for years. You don’t need to have all the answers or special skills, just a willingness to build relationships, listen well, and step into new cultures with humility. If you’re open to being stretched, encouraged, and used by God in under-reached places, you’re exactly who we’re looking for!
What do teams do?
Each team’s experience is shaped by the needs of the local ministry and the cultural context, but at the heart of every trip is relationship. Teams often spend time in conversation with local people–sharing stories and learning from one another. You might join local believers for prayer ways, visit homes, or serve behind the scenes supporting long-term workers. These are project-based trips focused on building things; they’re people-centered trips focused on connection, encouragement, and being present in places where the gospel is least known.
How often are trips available?
Trips are available year-round, and we encourage teams to choose dates that work best for them. Once you’ve selected a timeframe, we’ll coordinate with our global workers on the ground to confirm availability. To ensure enough time for training, logistics, and fundraising, we recommend starting the application process at least six months before your desired departure.
How long is a typical trip?
Most of our exposure trips last between 7 to 14 days. This timeframe allows teams to build meaningful connections, gain a deeper understanding of the local context, and serve in a way that supports long-term ministry–without requiring an extended time away from home or work. The exact length may vary depending on your destination, as some locations require additional travel days on either end of the trip.
What is the typical size of a team?
Most teams range from 6 to 12 people, which allows for flexibility, deeper connection, and easier integration into the local context. We generally cap team size at 15 to ensure a meaningful and manageable experience for both the team and the hosts on the ground.
How much does a trip cost, and what does that price include?
Trip costs vary depending on the destination, length of stay, and time of year. The cost usually includes airfare, meals, lodging, local transportation, and on-the-ground ministry expenses.
