The Deck family is excited to follow the Lord’s direction to help strengthen church planting efforts and equip new pastors in Czechia! The Decks are a family of eight, as the Lord has blessed Amy and Jeremy with six beautiful children (Molly, Nora, Jackson, Nolan, Audrey, and Kate)!
Both coming to saving faith in Jesus Christ during their childhood years, Jeremy and Amy met each other while serving as Team Leaders at a camp ministry in Rockford, Illinois. Jeremy was a student at Moody Bible Institute, and Amy was teaching fourth grade. During his time at Moody, Jeremy had the opportunity to visit the Czech Republic with a group of students and professors. Amy, who had been to Romania several times on missions trips, encouraged Jeremy to go. The Lord used this trip to further solidify our commitment to ministry in Eastern Europe.
After graduating from Seminary at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Jeremy considered ministry opportunities in Czech. The Lord directed them instead to New Hope, Minnesota, where Jeremy served for ten years as the Pastor of Student Ministries at New Hope Church EFCA. Throughout that time, Jeremy brought teams to Šumperk, Czechia to partner with local churches in hosting evangelistic English camps. The Lord used those trips to draw students to himself and begin a new young church, Kostel Jinak, for the purpose of reaching a new generation of people in Šumperk with the gospel. We have been partnered with Kostel Jinak since their inception.
Jeremy was sent by New Hope Church and the Evangelical Free Church of America to plant a new church in Minneapolis. In the Fall of 2016, a launch team of people set out to plant Gospel Life Church. We have been so grateful to watch the Lord’s faithfulness to GLC as it continues to grow and thrive as a young gospel-centered church in the Twin Cities region. Please pray for them as they now set out to call a new Lead Pastor. The Decks have been invited by Kostel Jinak to help them plant new churches in their region and begin a Pastoral Training Academy for raising up church planters in Czechia to the glory of God.
