What began as intercession became an invitation. When Zach and Lydia Malech first prayed for their friends Kyler and Claire Malarae as they left for Japan, they didn’t realize God was preparing to send them too. Now they are stepping out in obedience to join the Malaraes in planting churches and sharing God’s love with those who have never experienced it. Specifically, to revitalize the only church on the island of Iejima where the island’s only two known believers have been serving faithfully for almost 50 years. 

There is a lot to say bye to in Grass Valley, California: a close-knit community, fruitful ministry work, and their families. The weight of this calling testifies to the clarity of God’s leading, reminding us that when the value of Christ, and His name to all nations, is rightly magnified, the cost of discipleship need not, and should not, be minimized. Thank you for partnering with the Malechs as they follow God’s call to bring the gospel to Japan.
