The O'Brien Family
As we await an exciting new chapter in our ministry, our hearts are filled with anticipation and purpose for what lies ahead in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Our journey to this moment has been paved with a vision to bring the Gospel to the unreached.
Our Story
Our calling into ministry began in 2013 when we joined Global Fellowship when we committed to church planting in South Asia. After raising support and attending a five-month missionary training school in Atlanta,GA, we departed to begin our ministry in South Asia, targeting one of the world's largest unreached populations. Our mission was clear and compelling: to share the Gospel, disciple new believers, and ignite a multiplication movement. Through Bible studies and personal engagement, we witnessed the Gospel's transformative power firsthand as hearts and minds opened to its message.
Our ministry took a significant turn when we transitioned to roles at Global Fellowship's international headquarters in Auburn, CA. This new phase expanded our impact, allowing us to support over 524 missionaries across 38 unreached countries. Our efforts contributed to the development of regional leadership teams. In 2020, Conrad was promoted to the Co-Executive Director.
Vision for Chiang Mai
Our move to Chiang Mai is not merely a change in location but a strategic step toward realizing our vision. Chiang Mai's strategic location, being just a few hour's flight from 90% of the world's unreached, offers us the opportunity to be in close proximity to many of our teams. Our approach is proactive, focusing on equipping local leaders to endure and excel in their calling, making church planting among the unreached sustainable and effective.
Establishing our field office in Chiang Mai is envisioned as a sanctuary for our church planters and their families—a place for renewal, guidance, and celebration of God's work. Moreover, its proximity to our mission base will enhance our ability to provide immediate training and resources, ensuring our missionaries are well-equipped for effective ministry.
Get Involved
With over three billion people still unreached by the Gospel, our mission is as critical as it is urgent. Less than 3% of cross-cultural missionaries serve among these populations, highlighting the vastness of the task and the need for increased support and commitment.
As we prepare to embark on this next phase of our journey in the summer of 2024, we invite you to join us. Your partnership and financial support are indispensable in bringing the life-transforming message of Jesus to the unreached. Together, we can impact lives and glorify God among all peoples. Please prayerfully consider joining our team in helping us bring hope and eternal life to the unreached populations globally.
