Join an established church planting team in an area where unity among churches is growing and the gospel is flourishing. There are two churches in the region already with desire for more in this beautiful yet spiritually dark and atheistic county.
Our partner, Toni Mrvic, is a Slovenian who moved to Kocevje, Slovenia in 2001 to began his work. Kocevje experienced great pain and struggle after the fall of communism and the atrocities that happened there. It was in this soil that God begin to grow something in Kocevje, a town of about 16,000 people, most of whom are atheists.
That dark past has led to a dark present for Kocevje. There is spiritual darkness that is evident in the city. Toni is the local leader, a man of intense vision who aims to see this darkness turned into light. In the past years, he has planted a thriving church in Kocevje. In 2018, under Toni’s leadership, the Kocevje church planted another church in Trebnje, a town where there is not a single church.
The new church plant has been fruitful as there are fifty congregants. In spite of the spiritual darkness, Toni was able to build a good reputation. He and his wife, Mateja, have remained faithful to the call and continue to serve Christ faithfully.
The spiritual situaton remains dire in Slovenia. The enemy has a stronghold on this region of the world. Prayer and faithful witnesses are essential if freedom is to be achieved int his area. Pray that God would open hearts and minds and allow people to have faith in him.

The Goal: Plant 10 churches in the southern part of Slovenia. This area of the country is especially untouched with the gospel and so the need is great to raise up and equip more leaders to be sent out.
